2/15/2024 EnchantaVaughn Approved QMHPA arrived to the home of Kaila. Upon arrival to the home, Kaila appeared to be in a good mood. QMHPA informed Kaila that this session was going to talk about her depressive symptoms and being able to communicate positively. Kaila did not present any symptoms of S/I or H/I at the time of the session. QMHPA began session by processing with Kaila her current emotional state. QMHPA reviewed interventions from the previous session and questioned Kaila about her interactions with her family members and members of the community. QMHPA educated Kaila on positive communication skills and encouraged Kaila to refrain from verbal and physical altercations with others. QMHPA explored with Kaila positive coping skills and encouraged Kaila to utilize deep breathing when upset. QMHPA explored conflict resolution skills and encouraged Kaila to review previous conflict and explore alternative ways to have handled that conflict. QMHPA engaged Kaila throughout the session through the use of active listening, asking open-ended questions and providing empathetic responses. Kaila actively participated throughout the session. While exploring with Kaila her current emotional state, Kaila shared that she was in a positive mood. Kaila shared that she has not interacted with a certain individual (she declined to state to QMHPA who) since the verbal altercation and that she was not expecting any future communication between them for a while. While educating Kaila on positive communication skills, Kaila shared that she wanted to decrease her usage of profanity, but that it was difficult due to her using profanity for most of her life. Kaila identified coping skills, but shared that she does not back down from an altercation, especially if she feels that she is right. At the end of the session, Kaila appeared irritated while exploring conflict resolution and stated that the situation with her and this friend could have been resolved if they would have refrained from being disrespectful towards her.
